'Suspiria' Grabs Top Per-Screen Average of 2018
October 30, 2018
Amazon Studios' arthouse horror pic Suspiria boasted the year's best per-screen average so far, averaging $89,903 this weekend in two theaters in New York and Los Angeles. Suspiria director Luca Guadagnino also set last year's per-theater average with Sony Pictures Classics' Call Me By Your Name. Guadagnino's version is a remake inspired by Dario Argento's original Suspiria, an Italian horror cult classic, from 1977.
The second-best per-screen average for 2018 is now held by National Geographic/Greenwich Entertainment's doc Free Solo, with A24's Eighth Grade trailing in third.
