Sony Classics, Amazon Studios Win Four 2021 BAFTAs

Sony Pictures Classics' The Father and Amazon Studios' Sound of Metal each picked up a pair of accolades at the BAFTA film awards presentation this weekend.
Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller won the Adapted Screenplay award for their work on the drama The Father. Zeller also directed the film, and the script was adapted from his own play. Anthony Hopkins won the Leading Actor prize for playing the titular father. Both Hopkins and the screenwriting duo are also nominated for Academy Awards for this film.
On the more technical side, Amazon Studios' Sound of Metal received two trophies, for Editing and Sound. The Editing award went to Mikkel E.G. Nielsen and the team working on Sound was composed of Jaime Baksht, Nicolas Becker, Phillip Bladh, Carlos Cortés, and Michelle Couttolenc. Both teams are also up for awards in their respective categories in this year's Oscars race.
