Pedro Almodovar’s ‘Pain And Glory’ selected as Spain's Oscar submission

Spanish director Pedro Almodovar has been selected to represent Spain at the Oscars for the 7th time in his career. The semi-autobiographical 'Pain & Glory' was named the year's official submission for the International Feature Film category by the Spanish Film Academy today.
Starring Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz, 'Pain & Glory' tells of a series of reencounters experienced by Salvador Mallo (Banderas), a director in his physical decline. Banderas has been praised for his performance, being awarded Best Actor prize in Cannes.
The Sony Pictures Classics film 'Pain and Glory' will be released in the U.S. starting on October 4.
