Amazon Studios just added IFC Film’s EVP of sales and distribution Mark Boxer to its burgeoning film distribution team, headed by Bob Berney. The studio has previously partnered with distributors including Lionsgate, Roadside Attractions, Bleecker Street and Annapurna to bring its films to theatres. Starting in December, with the Woody Allen film Wonder Wheel, Amazon will be self-distributing its titles.

Boxer joins the company fresh off a promotion at IFC in June, and now will oversee a slate of 12-14 films, while reporting to Berney. He has overseen distribution of a number of critically-acclaimed independent films throughout his career, making him a great fit at Amazon, who are surely looking to continue their glittering award season run in the coming year.
