On Monday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its shortlists of semi-finalists in nine separate categories. Between now and January 22, the branches represented by those lists will vote to determine nominees, which will be announced along with all other Oscar categories.

Among these specialty categories, Amazon Studios has three films on the shortlists: Cold War for Foreign Language Film; Beautiful Boy,for Original Song; and Suspiria, on the lists for both Original Song and Makeup & Hairstyling. Sony Pictures Classics also has three films on the various shortlists: Never Look Away and Capernaum,both for Foreign Language Film; and Stan & Ollie, for Makeup & Hairstyling.

Other shortlists announced on Monday included Documentary(Feature and Short Subject), Original Score, Short Film (Animated and Live Action), and Visual Effects. To see all the shortlists, keep reading at Variety.
